Sarah (she/they) is a director and writer.

Sarah was director for Shakespeare’s Globe’s Ensemble 2019; co-artistic director of BAZ Productions from 2012-2020; and is currently a Trustee on the Board for The Albany in Deptford (2023 winner of the national award from Diversifying Group for Community Initiatives Board of the Year, for ‘the Board who have made the biggest impact through community initiatives which support marginalised groups across the UK’). They are also an associate at Tonic Theatre, the industry leaders for change, making the sector more equitable, diverse and inclusive.

They are developing research on Wellbeing in the Arts, which has included experimenting with arts therapy as part of rehearsal processes, interviews with creatives during lockdown 2020-21 and co-facilitating Directors’ Space, a group exploring resilience and wellbeing, supported by the Young Vic. Sarah has worked extensively with young people, from directing Further than the Furthest Thing for the Young Vic, to directing the Unicorn Young Company to facilitating drama workshops for the National Theatre, the Young Vic, the BRIT School and many others. They oversaw the delivery of workshops for young people for BAZ Education 2011-2020.
